Training & Development
The most valuable skills that many foster parents rely on are often the life skills and transferable skills they have picked up along the way! In addition to this our fostering team are on hand to support foster parents with a comprehensive training package which is ongoing.
We support your development from the time you begin your application and approval process, with training on Skills to Foster, Safeguarding, therapeutic Non-violent resistance and much more.

Your investment in supporting children and young people is important to us and we want to invest in your ongoing development as childcare professional. As a foster parent we will work with you to ensure you feel supported and can develop your competence and skills in a wide range of areas. Through monthly supervisions, appraisal, group sessions, mentoring, coaching, training and qualifications available to you, we are on hand to help you grow personally, professionally and with us as an independent organisation.
Our own in-house assessment centre is registered with awarding organisations CACHE and Qualsafe to deliver a range of qualifications for staff and foster parents. The small team of helpful and friendly qualified assessors will discuss your individual needs and support you with the achievement of professional qualifications, such as the mandatory Training, Support and Development Standards (TSDS), the Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce (Fostering pathway) and the L3 Award in Paediatric First Aid.
